Designed to prepare students for essential roles in both community and institutional pharmacy settings, this program offers comprehensive training in pharmaceutical practices, including prescription processing, medication compounding, inventory control, and pharmacy-related legislation.



With the option to study either on campus or through live, online instruction in New Brunswick, this flexible learning model allows students to balance education with their personal commitments. The program culminates in a 6-week industry placement, giving you the chance to apply your new skills in a real-world pharmacy setting and connect with potential employers.

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the program, students will gain a strong foundation in key pharmacy assistant duties, such as:

  • Reading and interpreting prescriptions
  • Preparing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Safely compounding non-sterile products
  • Understanding pharmaceutical terminology and classifications
  • Operating pharmacy software for data entry and patient records
  • Managing inventory and ordering supplies
  • Processing third-party insurance claims
  • Ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all transactions

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED accepted)
  • Mature applicants (21+) must provide proof of at least Grade 10 education or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older by the end of the program
  • A non-refundable $500 deposit is required to secure enrollment
